Angelo, a Director in our International Tax team shares what he noticed during our application process, and why he decided it was the right career move for him.

I joined the Mazars Privately Owned Business Tax team in February 2022. Prior to this, I worked for another top 10 UK Tax firm as a Corporate and International Tax Director. 

The decision to move jobs involves a complex set of criteria to consider, and I was very cautious when approaching my first interview for this role. During the interview process, I immediately noticed that by joining the firm I would have the opportunity to experience a very interesting and challenging journey thanks to the great international exposure, coaching culture, and accessible style of management. 

Speaking with the different partners, after my first interview, I immediately noticed how talented and technically prepared they were and how a positive culture is spread across the firm with a truly inclusive approach to diversity. 

In addition, I decided to move to Mazars because, being an International Corporate Tax Advisor, I was very attracted by the fact that the firm operates in more than 90 countries and territories around the world. This gives you the opportunity to deal with overseas colleagues sharing the same firm culture, approach and systems, facilitating any kind of international tax assignment and working together under the same internationally recognised brand. 

I also appreciated the fact the firm has a distinctive one-team approach where people are encouraged to grow and develop and be their true self whatever their background, culture or generation. Being an expat myself, this was an important point to consider during the interview process and for my next role.
