If you are successful in securing a role on our Sustainability Services team you will join 600+ innovative specialists across a variety of sectors including Financial Services, Industry & Services, and Public Services with consultative expertise in ESG Strategy Consulting, Risk & Management Consulting, Internal Audit, Actuarial and all aspects of the Tech & Digital space. Our Advisory teams are at the forefront of clients' net-zero roadmaps, human rights strategic engagements, large international infrastructure projects, global M&A transactions, high-profile forensic investigations, business valuations, corporate restructuring and creditor advisory services; all with the aim of adding value to clients by finding solutions to a range of financial and non-financial issues as one collaborative team.

Job Purpose

To keep pace with Mazars international sustainability success, evolving regulation and market sentiment, Mazars in the UK is seeking experienced business and human rights and social impact professionals to join our team. These roles present an excellent opportunity to grow your career whilst helping our clients navigate and positively contribute to the sustainability agenda. Working alongside our existing sustainability team, and interacting regularly with our global centres of excellence, you will support international and local clients with the establishment and maintenance of their ESG / sustainability programs including program strategy, governance structure, risk, sustainability reporting and target setting. These roles offer a great opportunity for experienced sustainability professionals looking to take their career to the next level via additional business development, team management and/or international exposure.


Job title and responsibilities will be tailored to the strengths and aspirations of the successful candidates but are expected to include some or all the following:

  • Acting as a lead consultant for client ESG and sustainability programs, in particular, as a subject matter expert on business and human rights and social impact
  • Providing technical consultation support to reporting and assurance teams looking at business and human rights and social issues
  • Participating in business development activity – prospect meetings, preparation of proposals and project plans
  • Managing a team and supporting their development
  • Supporting international client projects as required
  • Active member of Mazars global sustainability service line community


  • Ability to articulate the sustainability business case
  • Commercially focused and adept in applying your sustainability knowledge to differing client situations
  • Relevant degree or higher – sustainability, social impact, business, finance or accounting
  • For the Manager role, we expect a minimum of 7 years of professional services experience including at least 4 years in the field of human rights and social issues. More experience is required to be considered for the Senior Manager roles
  • Familiar with UK sustainability reporting guidelines and significant experience of the UNGPs, various modern slavery acts, GRI and ILO standards - knowledge of SASB standards a plus
  • Strong track record of engaging with clients, at executive level, to establish and maintain their human rights and social impact programs, either as the lead consultant or team member
  • Experience of the following would be deemed advantageous:
    • social value quantification and human rights reporting
    • social audit standards and their application in local and global value chains
    • consulting on responsible procurement strategies from a human rights viewpoint
    • supply chain risk reviews
    • performing social impact and human rights due diligence and reporting
  • Strong research, analytical and report writing skills
  • Team player with good communication, interpersonal and client servicing skills
