Corporate Communications Specialist (1110)

Our Business Services team is a collective of creative, strategic, forward-thinking business enablers. Together the People & Culture, Marketing & Communications, IT, Operations, Finance and Quality & Risk Management teams make it their mission to ensure Mazars has the right tools, technology, strategies and services in place to deliver exceptional client service and future-proof our growing business.

Job Purpose

Mazars, the international tax, audit and advisory firm, is looking for a Corporate Communications specialist to join its Communications team.

In this role, you will help to tell Mazars' story, both inside and outside the firm. Working across internal and external communications, you will network with senior stakeholders to identify compelling stories from across the business, and then use your skills to create appropriate content for a range of channels.

This role will provide exposure to senior stakeholders across the business and the successful candidate play a key part in the growth of a diverse, ambitious and purposeful professional services firm. You will work closely with the UK and Group MarComms teams and will report to the UK Head of Communications.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Identify stories and initiatives from across the business and create articles for national newsletters and firm-wide communications
  • Support our colleagues in HR, Finance and IT, as well as our diversity networks and client-facing teams
  • Work closely with the Head of Communications to manage PR agency relationships, plan media activity in line with business strategy, and coordinate a busy and proactive press office
  • Identify media targets and prepare spokespeople to articulate the firm's message clearly and consistently
  • Support our executive leadership team with corporate profile and build strong media relationships in the national press
  • Draft press releases and media commentary for our spokespeople, as well as reviewing and editing the work of agencies and contractors
  • Provide communications support in reputational crises and act as deputy to Head of Communications

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Excellent written English is a given: you'll also be creative and passionate about language, able to express complex ideas in a direct and engaging way
  • The audience comes first, and you'll be able to craft appropriate stories and tailor your style according to the content and the audience
  • You'll understand that flawless accuracy, grammar and spelling communicate credibility and professionalism
  • You can demonstrate, with examples, the excellent work you've produced in the past.
  • Words on a page may not tell the whole story, and you'll be open to experimenting with different media and channels to share our message
  • You'll be able to manage multiple competing demands on your time by prioritising tasks and setting clear expectations
  • Managing ambiguity and delivering to schedule will underpin trusting relationships with your stakeholders across the business
  • Your personal style is engaging, and you have the ability to absorb feedback and build rapport quickly

Inclusion and Diversity

At Mazars inclusion and diversity are central to our values. We recognise that being an inclusive and diverse organisation makes us stronger as a business.

We seek to attract and recruit people who reflect the diverse nature of our clients and communities, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity, nationality, faith or belief, social background, age and disability. Mazars selects candidates based on skills, knowledge, qualifications and experience.
