Client Onboarding Manager (1607)

Job Purpose

Working in the Client Engagement Centre, the Client Onboarding Manager will be required to manage a small team, whose responsibility is to support client teams by undertaking customer due diligence on clients.  This includes carrying out initial research (including screening to identify a variety of risks, such as adverse media) on the prospective clients, collation of publicly available information about the client and relevant documentation, and, inputting this into the firm's systems.  


Job Role

  • Coach / mentor / manage junior members of the Client Engagement Centre Team (CEC)
  • Support Client Engagement Centre Manager in the role out of a new workflow application to manage CEC Team workload
  • Carrying out client due diligence and collation of supporting documents for a variety of new and existing clients, and, updating on a periodic basis.
  • Screening of clients for sanctions, Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) and adverse media
  • Liaise with the client facing teams and/or client to obtain further information and/or documentation where this has not been provided or is not available from open sources.
  • Input the due diligence information and documentation into firm's systems for onward submission and review.
  • Recognising anomalies or issues, and escalating matters as appropriate.
  • Answer technical client due diligence queries from the business.
  • Develop effective and efficient policies, procedures and guidance in respect of client onboarding processes
  • Develop and deliver client onboarding related training
  • Use firm's risk assessment tool to review issues raised across a variety of matters such as KYC, ethical/independence, reputational
  • Play an active role in the wider QRM team and contribute to positive morale

Person Specification

  • Knowledge of the UK Money Laundering Regime
  • Highly motivated and self-sufficient with a drive to continue developing subject matter knowledge
  • Strong analytical and interpretation skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Adaptable and flexible with good team working skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with service lines and develop an excellent understanding of their business
  • Ability to work to pre-determined deadlines and meet objectives under pressure
  • Ability to think strategically and handle complex concepts
